  • Just because if that was the case, I’d forgive the man for being such a dead beat (or be more inclined to at least) as opposed to him… you know… hanging out with a gang of leprechauns or something.

#how awesome would it be if bonnie’s dad was busy being a one-man army against vampires #essentially abandoning his daughter who’s been mystic falls’ only defense against these monsters #who was - at one time - desperately in need of a mentoring hand and now it’s too late. #she’s been so fucked up that she’s at the point where she’s saved one of the biggest abominations of them all. #and he’ll come back and find a stranger in his daughter’s place who’s hardened and bitter and murky. #and he’ll have done all of this in a futile bid to protect her and maybe out of bitterness for abby leaving him bc of vampires #and it will all mean nothing #because his daughter is playing a dangerous game and his ex-wife is now actually one of those monstrous creatures #and there is literally nothing he can do. #see that would be an awesome conflict. #which guarantees that i won’t get it. #oh fucking well.

Non-Core TVD Characters I Stan | Pearl Who the fuck should be running the vampire town? Pearl. Although not as fleshed out character as her friend Katherine, Pearl, is the head vampire in charge and don’t you forget it. Even though I find it hard to believe that someone with the ethnic background of Pearl would have been perceived as a lady in the late 1800’s, I absolutely love her. I wish the writers had spent more time telling us about this woman who with her meticulousness and careful planning and ruthlessness could have created an empire out of the vampires. She is a no-nonsense woman who would have been able to meet her goal with living peacefully amongst the humans if her life span had allowed her. Bitch plans so fucking amazingly, follows through with her plan, and she has the resourcefulness and the capability to smile sweetly and rip your heart out such as when she showed Damon she is not to be messed with). One of the many female characters who make TVD a delight to watch.

#remember when jeremy gilbert was suitably awed by the brilliance that is bonnie bennett: superhero? #and one of the cornerstones of their relationship was the fact that this kid was foolishly ridiculously mesmerised by every thing she did #and not just her magical abilities but her strength and her commitment to helping people even if she hated being in the middle of things? #and how he couldn’t help but find ways to be around her because all of these parts of her were so magnetic? #how when to everyone else she was an invisible lackey he was the only person who bothered to SEE her #and she - who was perfecting the art of putting up walls and not letting anyone in on her vulnerabilities allowed him to? #oh and remember that time when he was perfectly content to take her lead on things #because she was the powerhouse and he felt no insecurity in acknowledging that? #and how he’d tote around her candles or her grimoire or any other magical paraphernalia #and be helplessly stimulated by the simple act of watching her chant a spell or burn scraps of paper with her mind? #and how she was lady witch goddess to his hopelessly loyal champion #and how sometimes he would be stupidly reckless in his attempts to ‘protect’ her. #because he’s a gilbert and gilberts do stupid things. #and even though it was grating it was also wonderful #because no one else in mystic falls cared enough to stick their necks out for bonnie #to be foolish and reckless and overbearing and idiotically heroic because they valued her and her life. #and it was a novel and beautiful thing because the last time we’d seen anyone sacrifice for bonnie (grams) - they died. #remember that? #and then recall how the writers managed to unravel all of that in the space of six episodes in s4 #and tell me that i shouldn’t be bitter as fuck. #i know there were issues with this ship. i get it. but jeremy’s devotion to bonnie was written unstintingly. #and for them to rip that to shreds and have him spit on everything quite literally. i cannot forgive. #(yes i believe he should’ve been conflicted with anna and vicky.) #(but tossing out his entire season 2 journey for fan pandering is beyond the pale) #bitter until the blood-drenched end #fuck you show
