One of the most interesting things to me about Cersei textually is how much of a misogynist she is.  Other than herself, who she views as the equal of Jaime (and thus of a man), and Myrcella, who she views as an extension of herself, Cersei really hates the women around her.  She thinks they’re sheep and weaklings and that she, by being the equal of Jaime, is thus better than them.

There are no women like Cersei, there’s only Cersei.

dance-at-bougival: actually in love with lena headey’s everything, i mean show cersei and book cersei are entirely different creatures, but sometimes the scripts allow her to lose her control and you can see the wildfire of book cersei, and it’s beautiful, she’s clinging on to control with claws for hands and nails and teeth, and she will not give it up, because she doesn’t know how to rule out of love or compassion or humanity, she only knows that power is fear and blood, power is when the people fear your retribution more than your enemy, power is ruling by pure brutal ruthless lannister might, and that is the only power cersei has or ever will have, perfect queen, cersei
