Mr. Zabini, who was far wiser than his house-mates, emerged from the war largely blameless, and he made his mother’s seven fortunes seven times over, and he married a pretty and engaging creature, and they had three daughters. And like Mr. Zabini himself, they had no use for people outside their little circle and they chose to spend their days discussing fortunes, be it at their father’s table or in some exclusive corner of the Slytherin dungeons.
Nona, who was the eldest, excelled at spinning the stories of their contemporaries, introducing a fallen blood traitor here, or a penniless half-blood there. And Sudice, who was the middle child, had no compulsions about taking the measure of such unfortunates, assigning to each exactly what was their due. While Moirai, who was the youngest, was the most like her grandmother, and prone to cutting people short.
They had learned from their father well. He had told them, “They’ll think you arrogant and cruel because you will not descend to their level. But why make sordid connections, or throw yourself at scheming housemates who’ll only drag you under? No, there’s freedom and power, too, in not cleaving to the crowd. Only then can you choose your fate, and not have it chosen for you.”

witches don’t serve nature imo because they aren’t given a choice. nature selects bloodlines and imprisons them and abandons them when they become vampires. witches don’t win anything. ever. and for me it’s tvd’s most tragic and powerful story.

Witch not winning anything ever is why I tend to be team witches. But I want to know more about HOW they were selected? Are we going more on a natural rout where nature is indifferent and cruel and what survives in evolution is as often chance as design? Witch bloodlines are just an unlucky bunch who are struggling just like everyone else?

Or is nature a being? Is it sentient? Did it literally create people - create bloodlines - to become witches to protect it and do its bidding? Is it etched in the DNA of witches to want to restore balance? But they still have humanity, and humans values their own. That’s coded in our DNA as well. So are witches in a constant struggle between choosing between duty to nature, their master, and the people that they love?

It’s no wonder so many witches end up tangled up with vampires or running away and that it never really turns out good for witches.

I DON’T KNOW. SCIENCE/MAGIC IS MY OTP AND IT’S ALL WOUND UP IN BONNIE BUT I ONLY GET TAUNTS OF THINGS I CAN NEVER HAVE.

us against…

In the end it comes down to this:
Two young women, side by side, hands clasped. One light, the other dark. One gold hair, sunny smiles and bubbly nature, the other dark curls, stern demeanor and shadowed eyes. One hides a vicious desire to tear throats out with her teeth, the other bound by duty to protect the innocent and unaware from the monsters of the night. Both tied together by the deepest and most profound of love.
The world tries to tear them apart. They are meant to be enemies. They are meant to be on opposite sides in a war neither of them ever wanted to fall into. It is a cruel destiny to be pulled at the seams between their souls and their bodies.
The fates have dealt them a hand they refuse to accept.
In the end it comes down to this:
Two young women, side by side, hands clasped. One light, the other dark. Both powerful in their own rights. Sisters that should no longer be on the same side. Family that refuses to let go.
In the end it comes down to this:
The world could burn to the ground around them, but Caroline and Bonnie will stick together until the very end of time.
