i repeat: HE WAS STILL GOING TO LET KLAUS BRUTALLY MURDER HER WITHOUT HER CONSENT with blessing, EVEN WITHOUT HER KNOWING PROBABLY UNTIL THE FIRES WERE ALREADY GOING. oh but he had an elixir, an elixir of properties that were possibly restorative, and anyway THAT DOESN’T MEAN HUMAN? and she was hated for running, and he came at elena for lying to him, BUT HE WAS NEVER GOING TO TELL KATHERINE SHE WAS GOING TO DIE OR GIVE HER A CHOICE in her violent murder?? which makes his condescending ‘you lied to me’ 4.18 lines i saw going around even more nauseating in their misogyny? beyond what his actions to her in 2.11 implied? he threw elena around and got off on this young kid crying and trying defiantly not to move when he zoomed up to her, he’s all about admiring several white characters for protecting their families and honoring that, but bonnie and her mom - black women suffering this family constantly ruining them since before bonnie was even in gradeschool - are disposable and not even worth acknowledging their familiar position? his letter doesn’t even register bonnie’s collateral, it’s just about shaking the white girl’s faith in her strengths that he likes having around? which again makes zero sense from his s2 curiosity with bonnie and stefan. and it’s not like bonnie hadn’t already proven willing to die to do this just like elena, so he wasn’t playing a card to prey on her coveting her life with ‘you’ll die.’

ms. lockwood was another human he boredly saw as malleable. i do not even want to think about the creepiness of how exactly he got her off vervain. (the only comfort i have is how uninterested elijah was in everything and one, and uninterested in putting terrorization over efficiency. if he could scare and play with people and get stuff done, great, but if not, he didn’t seem to be interested in compelling/tricking jenna beyond inviting him in to intro-taunt elena, unlike what i could see klaus or damon doing. and prior to s4 he was not seen conflating abuse or sexualizing a woman’s fear with love unlike all the other tvd males.)

but most of all in his first episode HE TOLD ROSE TO SHUT UP CRYING BECAUSE NOW SHE WAS ‘FREE’ OF THE PERSON SHE LOVED SO MUCH SHE RAN FOR 500 YEARS WITH THEM, KNEW EVEN BEFORE THAT, JUDGING ON THE FLASHBACK, DISCOVERED A DOPPLEGANGER (LIKE???!!), so she found out katherine’s secret (!!!) and tracked katherine, ARRANGED KIDNAPPING AND -  SERVING ELIJAH A FREAKING DOPPLEGANGER ELIJAH HIMSELF DIDN’T BELIEVE IN TO FINALLY STOP RUNNING AND JUST BE TOGETHER!!
