brandi maxxxx is a supportive, genuine, generous, positive person that is so endearingly, sincerely proud of herself, her profession, and women in positions of power but is still not respected by some characters (especially leslie, which makes no sense and is a huge wasted opportunity)

#easily my least favorite thing about my favorite show is how they treat brandi #(along with some iffy native american jokes and fat-hatred and gross dynamics like ann/tom) #(”you wore me down” ugh NO STOP IT SHOW you are better than this you know better get your shit together carol) #she is so sincere and enthusiastic about her job #and loves leslie so much and admires her and wishes her success #and leslie sees her as this blight on her reputation this trashy porn star with whom she never wants to be associated #and it would be like…okay sure if she were only thinking politically because yes as much as it sucks political figures do need to distance #and brandi - while a good-hearted hard-working earnest person - can express herself poorly and give joan/misc. enemies fodder against leslie #but it doesn’t seem like leslie is only being pragmatic when she tries to shut brandi down #it feels more personal and it’s really fucking disappointing #brandi loves to have sex! brandi loves seeing other women succeed! brandi is grateful to her consumers and takes actual pride in her work! #and what she does IS work despite what anyone thinks #BRANDI MAXXXX RAN FOR COUNCILWOMAN THAT IS HUGE #that is brave that is a sign of courage and intelligence and a genuine desire to help make the world better #even if she’s not shown to be quite clever enough to pull it off she TRIES #brandi maxxxx for human of the year you guys #i love her so much i can’t even explain it i have way too much affection for some random character who MAYBE has appeared for 12 minutes tot #al #her admiration-crush on leslie is my favorite thing ever #followed only by her unwavering generosity and supportiveness ugh brandi you unappreciated gem of a human #you are feminine and sexual and proud of yourself and ambitious and socially engaged and brimming with kindness #let me be your friend #you don’t need to be smart or chaste or cynical to be interesting or worthy (via caterinasforzas)
